This short video does a really good job of highlighting the effects of sugar on our bodies. Obesity is the obvious result of too much sugar, but other diseases such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease are also a result. A big problem is that processed foods do not necessarily have to taste sweet in order to let us know that sugar or corn syrup is present.
What Can We Do?
The solution is as you would expect: eat more fruits and vegetables and have only moderate intake of junk foods. To avoid an excessive amount in one’s diet it comes down to reading labels (avoid fructose corn syrup at all opportunities!) and making appropriate choices.
